Deflecting Ghosts – Risen

Hutchinson, Kansas alt-metal trio Deflecting Ghosts return with Risen, a fast-paced and emotionally charged single landing 17th October 2025. Tackling the moral confusion and blind conformity of the modern world, the track channels urgency into something both confrontational and cathartic. Crushing riffs collide with driving percussion and heavy bass lines, while Luke Fitzgerald’s impassioned vocals cut through with grit and conviction.

There’s a familiar nod to the melodic darkness of bands like Chevelle and Three Days Grace, but Risen stands firmly on its own, fusing raw aggression with a hook that lingers long after the final chorus. Recorded entirely at Fitzgerald’s home studio, the DIY process only heightens its intensity, capturing a sense of controlled chaos that mirrors the song’s message. Short, sharp, and built for replay, Risen is a battle cry for resilience — a reminder that even at breaking point, strength can rise from the noise.

To1Swerve – Shooting StarBritish-Caribbean artist To1Swerve returns with Shooting Star, a bold and fully realised statement of growth, resilience and elevation. Blending UK rap grit with dancehall and Afro-fusion textures, the project moves between hard-hitting lyricism and melodic finesse, reflecting a journey shaped by loyalty, betrayal, fatherhood and spiritual awakening. There’s weight behind every bar. From the international momentum of “Elon” to the 1.3M-view anthem “Basement,” To1Swerve proves he’s building more than buzz — he’s building legacy. Tracks like “Thousand” and “Fire” showcase his commanding delivery, while “Celebration” and “Bring Your Love” reveal a global, crossover-ready versatility.

Born in Trinidad and raised in London, his sound carries lived experience — raw yet reflective, street-edged yet elevated. Shooting Star feels intentional, disciplined and ambitious, bridging introspection with anthemic energy. This isn’t just another release — it’s a testimony of survival and self-belief from an artist determined to shine on his own terms.

Chandra – It’s OK

Chandra return with their fifth single of the year, It’s OK, and it might just be their most liberating yet. Following the high of previous releases, this track flips the script — trading intensity for uplift, without losing the emotional sincerity that defines their sound. Built on bright guitars, punchy rhythms and a massive, sing-it-back chorus, It’s OK is pure permission to let go.

Blending power-pop shine with anthemic rock energy, the band channel the feel-good rush of stadium-ready hooks while grounding the message in something deeply personal. Frontman Chandra Nair delivers the lyrics with warmth and conviction, turning self-doubt into a rallying cry. It’s a reminder that timelines are personal, pressure is optional, and not having it all figured out is more than fine — it’s human. Designed for hands-in-the-air moments and late-night car singalongs, It’s OK proves Chandra’s mission to uplift through melody is not just consistent — it’s contagious.

Wain – Still Colorful

Still Colorful by Wain is a carefully textured EP that lives up to its name. The project blends cinematic atmosphere with modern pop sensibilities, creating a sound that feels both intimate and expansive. Each track is built with attention to detail—soft organic elements sit beside polished electronic production, giving the music a layered emotional depth.

What stands out most is the sense of space. The mixes breathe, allowing melodies and subtle sonic details to unfold naturally. Rather than overwhelming the listener, the production invites you in, gradually revealing its emotional core. There’s a reflective quality throughout the EP, as if every sound choice is meant to support the feeling behind the song. Wain’s strength clearly lies in balancing technical precision with genuine emotion. Still Colorful feels cohesive yet dynamic, moving between moods while maintaining a clear artistic identity. It’s the kind of project that rewards repeat listens, especially for those who appreciate thoughtful, atmosphere-driven pop production.
